African lions at Linton Zoo show their love for recycled Christmas trees

The Christmas tree may have bought joy to households all over the world just a few weeks ago. But now that happiness is being shared with lions at the zoo.

Check out the glee this African lion at the Linton Zoo is getting from a discarded Christmas tree.

For the last few years, the Linton Zoo has been requesting recycled Christmas trees from residents.

Rooted trees can be planted in our new woodland area or in aviaries and enclosures to enrich habitats. Cut trees are given to the big cats to play with and dead trees are used as fuel for our biomass burner. Trees can be left at the front gate or on the drive if we’re closed.”

It’s pretty obvious from the pictures that the lions love cuddling with their trees.

I love snuggling with my Christmas Tree!
