Barclay has one heck of a slap shot.
He’s also really smooth on ice.
Barclay also happens to be a yellow Labrador retriever puppy. He is the St. Louis Blues office pooch in training for the next 18 months on his way to becoming a Stanley Cup calibre service dog.
He also happens to be ridiculously cute.

Barclay is one very good dog.
He can also handle a puck. Maybe he should be in goal?
Earlier this fall, the Blues asked fans to name the team’s new pooch.
More 5,000 submissions came in, but the most popular was to remember Barclay Plager, the brother of Blues legend Bob Plager.
Barclay played 614 regular-season games with the Blues as a player and spent another 178 as head coach for the team between 1967-77.
“We’re confident that just like Barclay Plager, our puppy will grow up to pawsitively impact many in the future,” the team said last month in announcing the name of the pup. “Once the puppy has received his proper training, he will become an assistance dog for Duo, a St. Louis-based organization that provides assistance dogs to people in need.”
Hannah Arnold, the Blues’ director of community development and Blues for Kids, said in a statement the puppy will end up with a Duo client down the road.
“Whether that be someone in a wheelchair with limited abilities, or for a child in a courtroom that will be comforted by the dog, we’re proud to be involved in the dog’s upbringing,” she added.
Barclay is so popular his Instagram account already has more than 14,000 followers.
Barclay makes appearances at home games.
He’s definitely a Hart trophy candidate.
Who wouldn’t want this teammate behind the bench?
