Born tiny and premature, Fiona the hippo now tips the scales at 1,000 lbs

Fiona, the world’s most beloved hippo, has set a new record.

She now weighs 1,000 pounds. A milestone worth celebrating at her home at the Cincinnati Zoo — and beyond.

“That’s a long way from the 29 pounds she weighed when she was born six weeks premature on January 24, 2017!” the zoo announced Wednesday.

She’s even chowing down while stepping on the scales showing true commitment to a weight gain regime.

Our kind of celebrity. Real.

Female hippos can grow to 3,000 lbs.

So she’s got a weigh, er way to go.

But soon, her second birthday to celebrate.
