Bucket List: Creatures great and small take a drink from a bucket in the desert

Every wondered what would happen if you just left a bucket of water in the desert?

The Field Lab did in southwest Texas.

A bucket of water was placed on the ground. A camera was plopped at the bottom just to see what happened.

“Everybody loves water in the desert,” John Wells wrote in the Field Lab’s YouTube upload, which reached 1 million views within a few days.

And little wonder.

It’s mesmerizing to watch. And listen to.

George the rabbit made an appearance.

“I know him from all the other rabbits because of the tiny notch in his ear,” Wells wrote.

“A burro just happened to come by in time to be included.”

Ben, the steer, nudged the bucket before plunking in his muddy muzzle.

“You can lead a steer to water but you can’t make him drink,” Wells wrote.

Wells assures viewers of this side note:

“The swimming bees were rescued.”
