Bus-riding dog Eclipse hops on public transit to get to the dog park

Eclipse the very smart bus-riding dog has gone viral.

The video showing the mixed lab-mastiff dog getting on and off the bus on her own to go to the dog park has appeared in newspapers around the world.

It’s all great publicity for the Seattle public bus service and hopefully a dog encourages more people to use public transportation.

We much prefer sitting next to Eclipse over some of the smelly commuters we usually ride with on the bus.

We even see Eclipse sometimes leans over and licks the hand rests of the bus seats and slobbers sometimes.

(Dog licks are so much better than that weirdo who once licked our shoulder on the 4 Main Street bus in Vancouver.)

Eclipse’s owner Jeff Young says his dog doesn’t like to wait for him to finish his cigarette so will get on the bus by herself. It’s up to Young then to catch up with Eclipse at the dog park later.

Eclipse has figured out how to get on the bus near her house and when to get off at the stop by the dog park. Young said Eclipse always gets the window seat.

She was most concerned about seeing out the window, and I couldn’t figure out what that was. It was really just about seeing where her stop was.”

The two-year-old dog is totally urbanized, according to Young.

She’s a bus-riding, sidewalk-walking dog.”
