Calgary’s gorillas go ape over Stanley Cup playoffs

You could say the gorillas at the Calgary Zoo have a monkey on their backs. Or at least, they hope to kick it off in support of their beloved Calgary Flames.

The Flames won the first game of their first-round series against the Vancouver Canucks. The teams meet again tonight. And officials at the zoo are doing their part to cheer the Flames all the way to the Stanley Cup.

So naturally, they tossed a straw dummy clad in a Canucks jersey into the gorilla enclosure. The critters soon tore it apart.

Your turn Vancouver Aquarium.
