Caught on video: Jackrabbit wins play of the night during CFL game in Calgary

Horses and lions and … one very confused jackrabbit took to the gridiron Sunday night in Calgary.

The Canadian Football League’s Calgary Stampeders were playing host to the B.C. Lions at McMahon Stadium when a jackrabbit hopped out into the end zone during the third quarter.

The rabbit sauntered around for a bit before make a big run to the other end between plays.

Run, rabbit run is exactly what it did.

Football fans sweating in their seats through 30C+ temperatures during an extended heat wave cheered on the bunny as it went end to end and back again.

The rabbit later appeared along the sidelines dodging the Lions bench and television cameras before bounding back onto the field and in and out of officials and players.

The wayward bunny eventually did make it out a gate to the cheers of fans.

Oh, and the Stamps squeaked by the league-leading Lions 25-24.

But the rabbit, clearly has clinched the CFL’s play of the game.
