Caught on video: Dog rescued from icy creek in Saskatchewan

As winter starts to set in, Denis Pilon has one piece of advice.

“STAY OFF THE ICE!!”

The fire chief in Swift Current, Saskatchewan posted that after firefighters in his community saved a dog from an icy grave.

“Our firefighters were busy at the creek, rescuing someone’s pet,” he wrote on Facebook. “They allowed their dog to run off leash when it ventured our onto the ice and fell through. Quick action calling the fire department helped save their pet. Please keep your pets and children away from the Creek, the ice is thin and it is NOT safe.”

The dog clamoured up the bank to its owners.

“He wants to come see Ma and Pa,” someone can be heard saying on the video.

The pup looks cold, tired and a tad sore from the ordeal.
