VIDEO: Columbus Zoo gorilla plays peekaboo with toddler

Isaiah Chute, two-and-a-half years old, wanted to see the gorilla at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium.

And the gorilla wanted, apparently, to see Isiaiah too.

In a remarkable peekaboo session, gorilla and boy played now-you-see-me now-you-don’t as mom Sherry Chute caught it all on video.

The family  wandered into the Congo Expediton area last week and Isaiah went straight to the gorilla Kamoli who was born in 2013.

“He was just looking at the gorillas and we said to him ‘Isaiah what do the gorillas do?’ and he started pounding his chest,” Chute said in an interview with the Columbus Dispatch

That’s when he caught the attention of the young gorilla Kamoli, who was born in 2013.peekaboogorilla

“It was a really fun interaction,” Chute said. “Isaiah is just like that. Anyone who knows him knows thats he’s super playful.

When they were both worn out, the two parted ways.

Isaiah said “bye gorilla” as he left and Komali went back to play with the other gorillas in the enclosure.

“It was so fun to see him interact with the animals and know what they were,” Chute said. “He was just so truely blissful in that moment, it melted his mommy’s heart.”
