This makes us sad. Roadkill. Epic roadkill. But no vehicles involved.
The story comes from wildlife biologist James Wilder, who quite possibly has the best surname for a professional critter watcher we’ve ever encountered. He said his brother and a friend were touring through Glacier National Park in Montana when they stumbled up the carnage on a closed road.
He figured that the bighorn sheep and cougar had to have been fighting atop the mountain when they “fell to their immediate death sometime during the struggle.”
“Pay special attention to the mouth of the mountain lion,” he wrote to friends in sharing the photos. “…..as it still has sheep hide in its mouth!!!!”
