Cow born with three eyes worshipped as the deity Shiva

Travellers are making pilgrimages to a village in the Tamil Nadu’s Kolathur district after a cow with three eyes was born.

The cow, with one eye in the centre of her forehead, is believed by some devotees to be the reincarnation of the Hindu God Shiva and being worshipped as a deity.

The cow’s owner says he hopes the cow was sent to bring good luck to the villagers. In an interview in the Deccan Chronicles, the owner said:

This is a miracle calf, so we are worshipping and praying to it like a god…We believe if we worship this calf it will give good luck for us and the people around us.”

One of the villager says he believes the villager is the reincarnation of Shiva a god with three eyes. When Shiva, one of the foremost deities in Hinduism, is angry, the third eye on his forehead emits flames. When Shiva loses his temper, his third eye opens to burn things to ashes.
