Does your dog have what it takes to represent Scotland?

Scotland is looking for an “Ambassadog.”

And, this is the actual job posting for a pooch with #ScotSpirit:

“VisitScotland is looking for an outgoing, Scotland-loving and well-trained dog to fulfil the important role of Ambassadog – a canine ambassador to represent the spirit of Scotland around the world.”

The country’s tourism agency is looking for dog-owner team to be the paws on the ground and tails in the air “global ambassadors” for 2016. The role is open to all dogs from all regions of Scotland.

“The ability and enthusiasm to travel with their owner across Scotland (and in some cases across the rest of the UK) is vital, as is having a ‘nose’ for the best food & drink, events and walks across the country!”

The job, however, isn’t paid. But the winning dog – and owner – will go on an “unique dog-friendly holiday” somewhere in Scotland.

And nope, the dog doesn’t need to be a Scottie. Indeed, check out these dogs enjoying Scotland. The photos were posted to VisitScotland’s Facebook page.

Owners just need to explain why their dog represents all things Scotland, submit a photo or video and demonstrate some knowledge of the country. But better scurry, the deadline is April 6.
