When someone promises the “World’s First Wingsuit BASE Jumping Dog” you have no choice but to click. And so, we did. And, it was astounding. The feat was completed by Dean Potter, a rather accomplished rock climber and daredevil, and his dog, Whisper. Also, Potter’s pooch is wearing doggles during the precedent-setting leap in Switzerland.
More than 1.5 million people have watched the video since it was posted on YouTube two months ago. A good number have given it the thumbs down. But the Australian cattle dog seemed pretty happy when the duo hit solid ground.
Oh, and the experience also resulted in a 22-minute independent film, “When Dogs Fly.”
