It’s pretty exciting to see pronghorn on the prairies.
Even more thrilling if you’re a dog riding shotgun in a truck.
YouTuber Big Sky Videos captured the remarkable encounter on video last month in southwestern Montana.
“You like all the deers?” a man could be heard saying on camera as his dog in the passenger seat whines and stifles some barks.
The incident was later posted online, describing the animals as antelope, but they are actually pronghorns, which are North America’s fastest land animals, running up to 60 miles per hour.
But pronghorn are not skilled jumpers and highly sensitive to dramatic climate changes. They also came very close to extinction a century ago.
So if you see them, maybe just stop to watch.
