Sir Patrick Stewart and Ariana Grande have a few things in common.
They both love dogs. They are advocates for adoption, not shopping. And, are happy to showcase their furry friends. Sometimes, all at the same time.
On Wednesday, a dog was featured on the poster of the newest Star Trek offering starring Stewart, and on Tuesday, the cover of Vogue is adorned with Grande and one of the pop singer’s beloved dogs.
The poster for Star Trek: Picard shows Captain Jean-Luc Picard on a hill beside a dog gazing out over a golden drenched vineyard.
CBS All Access offered up the image and a teaser inviting fans to “follow Picard into the next chapter of his life.”

Stewart also shared the image, but not many clues about his co-star.

But Trekkies noticed something special about the pooch’s dog tag.
Stewart, whom he played for seven seasons on Star Trek: Next Generation, is beside a dog with the Starfleet insignia on its collar.
Man’s best friend, and #1, apparently.

And while it’s not clear, the pup looks a lot like a pit bull.
Stewart has a soft-spot for the breed.

So it all makes perfect sense.
Especially when you put it this way.
