Everything about this rescue mission is police-speak perfection.
“On Sunday, May 19, 2019, Calgary Police were called to the community of Royal Oak for reports of a mother duck pacing back and forth in front of a storm grate, and in visible distress,” the city’s police service announced Thursday on social media.
Then, officers deployed their playbook.
“Upon arrival, Const. Springman realized that seven ducklings had fallen into the grate, and he quickly began to aide the family of ducks,” police continued.
The rescue plan was executed to the letter.
“He removed the grate and lowered himself into the storm drain and began to lift the ducklings to safety one-by one,” police said.
Mission accomplished.
“As a result, all seven ducklings were reunited with their mother,” police added.
Case closed. Also, awwwwwww.
Truly, some top notch policing.
Calgary — and animal lovers everywhere — thank you.
