File Under Canada: Dog picks a fight with a deer, gets picked up by police

Forget the dog house.

This pooch is headed for the big house.

A woman in northwestern Ontario came home to find her dog, Finn, behind bars in the back of a police car.

Turns out Finn was trying to take down a deer, according to Emme Thompson who lives in Kenora.

Who’s a bad dog?

But the Ontario Provincial Police did grant bail.

Though he might have trouble staying out of trouble.

Oh, dear.

On Tuesday, OPP offered offered this good-humoured update.

“Patted down and sent to the dog house,” police posted on Facebook. “Finn was retrieved on Saturday after a dog was reported pursuing a deer on a road in Kenora. #OPP carefully corralled Finn, located his owners and had him safely returned with a story to tell and a stern warning about staying on leash.”
