Former US president Jimmy Carter recovering after fall on way to turkey hunt

Former US president Jimmy Carter, the oldest living ex-president in US history had surgery after falling while on his way to a turkey hunt.
Carter had been hoping to bag more turkeys before the season was over
President Carter said his main concern is that turkey season ends this week, and he has not reached his limit,” the Carter Center said. “He hopes the State of Georgia will allow him to rollover the unused limit to next year.”

On Monday, the Carter Center issued a statement saying the 94-year-ld Democrat fell at his home in Plains, Georgia.
The center didn’t say if Carter had broken any bones, just that he was on his way to go turkey hunting. Carter had successful surgery.
He is recovering comfortably from surgery to repair a broken hip at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center in Americus, Georgia,” the Carter Center said. “His surgeon stated that the surgery was successful. His wife, Rosalynn, is with him.”
