“Gentleman” raccoon breaks into school vending machine in Florida

This takes shaking the vending machine to get your snack to a whole new level.

Police in Deltona, Florida were called to a local high school Wednesday to deal with an very furry trespasser who had, well, broke and entered into a vending machine.

The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office posted a photo of a raccoon trapped amongst the Welch’s, Pop Tarts and the potato chips.

“This gentleman was apprehended today while committing a burglary of a vending machine at Pine Ridge High School,” police wrote on Facebook, along with a photo of the masked intruder.

Police, along with animal control and the vending machine operator, managed to move the contraption outside, open the door and soon enough, the raccoon walked out like it was nobody’s business.

It’s a new high water mark for trash pandas everywhere.

Or, as Cheryl Newcomb posted on the sheriff’s Facebook page: “So, if I select 401, do I get to keep the snack bandit?”
