Get your baby books out: Penguin chick at Calgary Zoo needs a name

Written by on August 29, 2015 in Critter Love - 1 Comment

The Calgary Zoo is looking for the public’s help to name its two-month-old Humboldt penguin chick.

The teeny penguin hatched on June 26 to parents Reina and Javier. Zookeepers have selected their three favourite names for the little guy.

  • Alejandro
  • Emilio
  • Lorenzo

You can choose which one you like best as part of the zoo’s naming contest until Sept. 4.

The zoo first introduced us to the male chick last month.

And, now he’s finally old enough – and big enough – to leave his burrow. So, visitors to the zoo may actually catch a glimpse of the wee fella.
