Good news in Ohio as new bill bans sex between humans and animals

Strange to believe but in many states in the U.S., it’s still not illegal to have sex with animals.

Ohio animal cruelty folks, you’re no  longer living in one of those states.

Earlier this week, Gov. John Kasich signed a bill. The new law makes it unlawful for a person to engage in sexual conduct with an animal and related acts and allows authorities to seize and impound animals that have been subjection to such “violations.”
The bill also authorizes a sentencing court to require any convicted offender to undergo psychological evaluation or counselling.

Ohio was one of just a handful of states that didn’t have an actual law outlawing bestiality on the books.

Shockingly, there are places in the U.S. where bestiality is still legal, according to the American Humane Society.

District of Columbia

Hawaii

Kentucky

Nevada

New Hampshire

New Jersey

New Mexico

Texas

Vermont

West Virginia

Wyoming

But happily there are a number of states where it is illegal to “know” animals in a carnal ways. Punishment for offenders include $50,000 fines (Montana) and life imprisonment (Michigan).
