Singer, songwriter and animal lover Jann Arden is lending her celebrity to help catch a dognapper.
Thunder is a 16-year-old deaf and partially blind pomeranian that was stolen outside a Toronto store more than a week ago.
Kyle and Shay Stewart, the dog’s owners, started putting the word out in posters and on social media after Thunder vanished Sept. 4.

Anytime a dog goes missing, it’s sad, but this case feels particularly tragic.
“Thunder- 16 year old pomeranian missing at Marilyn Bell Park by Lakeshore and Jameson,” Kyle wrote. “Deaf, so will not respond to his name being called.”

The dog’s disappearance so bizarre, the Toronto Police Service even issued a press release to help the theft investigation.
“On Monday, September 4, 2017, at 3 a.m., in Budapest Park, a dog was being walked by a friend of the owner
– the dog had been tied to a bench while the person walking it went into a store
– when they returned, the dog had been taken
Thunder is described as a tan-coloured Pomeranian. He was wearing a leash and harness with serial numbers on his tags.”
And now there’s a reward for the missing dog.
A campaign that really tugged at the heartstrings of Jann Arden, who spends much of her time on the other side of the country in Alberta.
Arden posted on Twitter: “lets find this wee dog.”
At first she offered a $500 reward, and then raised it over the weekend.
I keep waiting to hear that they’ve found this little darling. I’ll up the ante to 750$ for any information leading to his return.

And that was then matched by Andrea Miller.
I will match that.

Worried owner Shay Stewart is ever so grateful.
Just got in from hanging posters and can’t believe @jannarden and @yammydomiller and their generosity and kindness! Thank you so much!

Tips have come in about a man, possibly homeless spotted with the dog, but so far, there’s been no luck finding Thunder.
