John Lewis Christmas ad features wildlife jumping on a trampoline and one very jealous dog

Okay, maybe this is the best advertisement featuring animals this holiday season.

British retailer John Lewis features a father, frantically assembling a trampoline for his daughter on Christmas Eve, only for the viewers – and the family’s dog, a boxer named Buster – to witness a menagerie of animals enjoying the fruits of his work.

When Buster sees this — two foxes, a badger, squirrel and hedgehog — bouncing their hearts out.

Jealous much?

“This is the story of a little girl called Bridget who loves to bounce,” the retailer notes on its YouTube video, which has been viewed more than 21 million times. “When her mum and dad buy her a trampoline for Christmas, they soon discover that she isn’t the only one with a passion for jumping.”

But note, not everybody is thrilled with the ad.

Some wildlife groups are upset with John Lewis, since there are incident every year of animals stuck in playthings such as nets and trampolines, and others worry that parents will put their pets on the gizmos and place them ind danger.

There’s also the suggestion the hedgehog isn’t even British.

Still, other wildlife charities, and ordinary folks, are just enjoying the magic of the ad.

But make your own decision. And, watch to see how it ends.
