Kangaroo needs rescuing by police after jumping into the ocean

On a place called Safety Beach in Australia, a lone, lost kangaroo got pulled to safety by police.

Rosebud police were on hand to give the kangaroo a second chance. Numerous calls had come in to police saying there was a kangaroo in the water Saturday afternoon.

The kangaroo was trying to swim but got into difficulty because of the swell and breaking waves. The kangaroo went under water a couple of times.

A sergeant and senior sergeant with the Rosebud Police force in Melbourne, Australia noticed the animal in distressed and hopped to it.

The officers jumped into the water and the roo was wrapped in blankets and taken to the police station where it was assessed by the local wildlife centre.

The roo is currently being cared for but is said to be in good spirits and lucky to be alive given the amount of salt water he inhaled, thanks to his rescuers.
