It was salad Tuesday in Karlie Allen’s household when they were preparing for dinner. On the menu was an organic package of lettuce and greens.
I’m across the room, and I hear a shriek and a thud,” Allen told television station WTMJ.
Allen, who lives in Wisconsin said she was shocked to find a frog alive in the family’s container of salad. They were going to take it back to the Pick ‘n Save store where they got it but the amphibian escaped overnight.
I’m thinking, ‘One — how the heck did that get in there?’ and ‘Two — that is absolutely disgusting.’ “
But readers of Critterfiles.com will know that frogs in salads are not that uncommon. In fact, a recent study found that frogs are the most popular animals found in packaged salads.
