First Lady Michelle Obama responded to the call to duty. So has a cast of animated penguins from the blockbuster movie Madagascar. They team up with DreamWorks Animation in advance of Veterans Day to sing the praises of returning military personnel. Obama announced the feel-good campaign Wednesday on Twitter.

The project, dubbed Operation Got Your 6, is the latest brainchild of an entertainment industry-led campaign “to create a new conversation in America, where veterans and military families are perceived as leaders and civic assets.”
Within hours of posting to YouTube, the infomercial received hundreds of views – and a few points of criticism. Compare that a similar effort in the summer (watch below) featuring big name Hollywood actors including Harrison Ford, Anne Hathaway, Sally Field, Glenn Close, Martin Sheen and Bradley Cooper. It garnered little more than 6,000 clicks on YouTube, which, we wager, will quickly be surpassed by the FLOTUS effort simply by the injection of some cute, albeit fake, critters.
