National Puppy Day and celebrities show off their puppies on Instagram

Forget the cheesy messages from some celebs and the obnoxious photo from Justin Bieber with his new dog Ester.

(Hello, Justin…what happened to little Karma? You remember her, the pug you bought when you were in Ontario last year. )

The message is what’s important for National Puppy Day.

Celebs like Zac Efron with his dog and Julianne Hough with hers posted pictures on social media to celebrate the day. Ariana Grande posted on Instagram a pic of her puppy getting a cookie

Regardless of whether it was celebrities saying it or someone else, the message is good. On National Puppy Day and every day, really, give your dog a hug and don’t buy from breeders but look at adopting from a rescue shelter instead.

National Puppy Day was started by pet lifestyle expert Colleen Paige who wanted to encourage people to adopt a new furry family member on this day and if you can’t, to please donate at least $5 to your local shelter.
