Operations Angry Birds busted in New York

Late-breaking news out of New York:

Nine people arrested, another 70 rounded up and as many as 3,000 roosters rescued in biggest cockfighting ring bust in U.S. history.

Among those involved in the take-down, was the ASPCA, which helped the New York Attorney General’s office in the take-down. ASPCA president and CEO Matthew Bershadker says the society wants to wipe out cockfighting in America.

No animal should be forced to fight to the death, and we’re proud to play a leading role in removing and caring for these victimized birds, as well as offering expert legal assistance in this case.”
