Pet therapy: a special kind of treatment for sick children in hospital

Being sick is no fun for anyone, especially a child. And being in a hospital can be a scary place. But Moxie is helping ease those fears.

Moxie is a pet therapy dog at SickKids Hospital in Toronto who brings comfort and support to patients.

“Dog visits help to calm patients and relieve their stress, and also provides a chance for them to relax and just be kids,” according to the SickKids Foundation. “Pet therapy can positively impact the physical, social and emotional well-being of a child.”

Watch this video just uploaded to YouTube yesterday and you’ll see. And, it all happens thanks to the PetSmart Paws for Hope Program.
