“English for beginners” is quite possibly the best Christmas ad of 2016.
Poland’s popular online auction site Allegro has put together one helluva tear-jerker featuring an elderly man learning English. with boxes of books that arrive in the mail. You’ll have to watch the entire advertisement to find out why this grandfather is so determined.

And, along the way you’ll also get to see frequent cameos of an adorable Jack Russell terrier.
As he watches his best friend plodding through the rigours of a new language at an old age.
