Politicians have been known to kiss some babies for votes. And, they’ll pose with just about anyone in pictures. But Jim Prentice, a former federal cabinet minister in Canada, who is now running to become leader of the governing party in Alberta, recently took the barbecue circuit to the next level. He hammed it up with a bear at the Discovery Wildlife Park in Innisfail. (The critters kept at this central Alberta facility have appeared in movies, on television and in commercials. They may well be more famous than the politicians.)

Another local politician also got in on the act.
