Rio Dog Carnival in Brazil kicks off

They called in Blocao–a play on the words for block party and dogs and this year about 100 dogs were celebrating Rio Dog Carnival in Brazil.

Everyone knows about Carnival in Rio but this year, there was one for the dogs. There were dogs with their furs dyed pink and others dressed in the Brazil colours of green and yellow. Blocao organiser Marco Antonio Toto said in an article that animal excitement was taking over Copacabana.

The neighbourhood of Copacabana has currently the most dog owners per square metre. It deserves this prestigious party. Our animals deserve this celebration.”
