Rupee the dog who climbed Mount Everest

[slideshow_deploy id=’366′]
It’s been appropriately called a great underdog tale. When Rupee was first found by his owner Joanne Lefson, he was starved and in a dump near northern India. She fell in love with the little pup and decided to take him back home to South Africa. In this ABC story, Lefson explains how Rupee took the lead most days during her expedition to Mount Everest. In climbing Everest, Rupee became the first dog on record to make the trek.
