School of Hard Knocks: Elk charges camera wielding tourist in Yellowstone

As a tour guide at Jackson Hole Wildlife Safaris, Jody Tibbitts has seen a lot of things.

But he was stunned when he saw this. A tourist getting too close for comfort for a photo of an elk in Yellowstone National Park. A video he posted on Facebook shows the elk charging and sending the panicked woman to the ground. But she narrowly avoided being knocked down by the annoyed animal.

“She just tripped and fell but the video is priceless,” Tibbitts explains.

Tibbitts is also heard on camera yelling from his vehicle for her to stay 25 yards away from the wildlife.

“That won’t happen again,” she responds.

He says: “I’m sure it won’t.”
