The biggest winner at the Grammys may well be Smokey Bear. Pharrell’s choice of headgear raised some eyebrows among style hawks Sunday night. But the bulgy brown cap donned by Pharrell Williams was a hit – at least for the huggable wildfire prevention icon, who was quick to turn to social media with his approval.
“Happy to Get Lucky with Pharrell’s #GRAMMYs hat trick. Only You Can Prevent Wildfires,” Smokey’s Facebook account noted. And, also: “Are you watching the #Grammys? Looks like Pharrell Williams might have had my wildfire prevention message on his mind. Or at least on his head <|;’) ”
And, on Twitter: “Thanks @Pharrell for a memorable #GRAMMYs night. Only you can prevent wildfires.”
Of course, the social media ode to Pharrell’s hat quickly gained 11,000-plus followers on Twitter, including of course, Pharrell dressed as a Mountie in red serge on his way to an after party.
