Pretty cool video of squid attacking a submarine has surfaced.
“Greenpeace dove deep into the Bering Sea in 2007 to explore canyons threatened by industrial fishing,” the environmental group noted on the 12-second video it uploaded to YouTube. “This opalescent inshore squid (AKA California market squid), bravely defended its territory against our submarine.”
The video shows one squid spewing black ink at the vessel while another squid passes by.
New life was breathed into the 7-year-old images when Greenpeace posted it on Vine a few days ago. Now, the conservation activist group is using it to prompt people to sign petition to protect the Bering Sea’s Green Belt.
