Suriya the orangutan adopts tiger cubs and bottle-feeds them

Suriya the orangutan who lives at the Myrtle Beach Safari in South Carolina has taken to heart the phrase Monkey See, Monkey Do.

After watching how humans handled the four young tiger cubs living at the park, Suriya decided she too can help look after the cubs.

She began by showing genuine interest in the cubs and now can bottle-feed them.

The cubs are between 1 and 2 months old and like their adopted milk mother. Suriya, who’s also friends with a dog at the safari park, likes cuddling with the cubs.

All this maternal behaviour apparently is making Suriya more attractive to the male orangutans at the park.
