Thanks to some very important research by Public Policy Polling we finally have proof that dogs are the default animal of choice. Sorry, cats. But also, sorry people. One out of five respondents said they’d rather spend time with their pets over humans. The trend is even more pronounced among rural folks (33 per cent of respondents) than city slickers (19 per cent) and suburbanites (12 per cent).
