Wednesday Zen Moment: Tourists wowed by close encounter with humpback whales in British Columbia

A group of lucky tourists had a front row seat to an incredible whale show this week.

Guests at the Great Bear Lodge in Port Hardy, B.C. awoke to some visiting humpback whales right off the dock.

Even bear guide Marlo Rose couldn’t believe their good luck.

“Woke up this morning to a whale blow outside my window,” she posted on Instagram. “We woke up the guests to come down and watch these two humpback whales bubble net feeding right beside the staff cabin. Life complete!”

The lodge, which posted the video that has now amassed close to 2 million views, said the whales have never come up that close before.

“What an amazing morning – humpbacks came for breakfast!” the lodge posted.
