A Canadian wedding photographer has won an international wedding photo competition after an opportune moment was caught in Whistler.
Tara Lilly was shooting the ceremony of Mikaela and Mitch’s wedding on a mountaintop in Whistler when a bird landed on the bride’s head.
The bird is a whisky jack and landed on Mikaela’s head just as Mitch started saying his vows.
The photo captured at that moment won the International Wedding Photographer of the Year competition.

The hilarious moment earned Lilly the title of 2023 International Wedding Photographer of the Year after she entered the photo into the “Single Capture” category.
