Protesters carrying placards reading “SeaWorld Hurts Orcas” crashed the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York. The inclusion of a float from the marine entertainment company has been a source of controversy. PETA, and other animal rights activists, including celebrities such as Alec Baldwin, have urged Macy’s to ban SeaWorld from the wildly popular annual American tradition.
Police quickly escorted the protesters off the parade route Thursday.
