Back in April, a cat was caught on video jumping from a third floor balcony in downtown Edmonton as a fire burned behind inside the suite.
The cat miraculously survived and was christened Jasper so-named after the street — Jasper Avenue — where the fire took place.
The owner didn’t come forward to collect the cat — saying they were no longer able to care for the 1-year-old fur baby — but now there couldn’t be a more purr-fect conclusion to his ordeal.
“Remember the brave cat who jumped from a burning balcony on Jasper Avenue?” Edmonton Fire Rescue Services posted on Facebook Tuesday.
“We have a great ending to his story! One of our own dispatchers has given ‘Jasper’ a fur-ever home and he’s settling right in.”

Jasper may well have used up one of his lives, but he couldn’t be luckier.
His whiskers were singed and some fur was burned off, but he was otherwise fine.

The fire service also thanked Through Your Pets Eyes Animal Rescue for their help bringing the homeless kitty his new home.
First through fostering and then through its adoption service.
“Such a happy ending, have an amazing life sweet Jasper, we were happy to be part of your journey … twice,” the animal rescue group posted on social media.
Jasper’s foster family called him “true gem to foster.”
The fire service is now encouraging others to consider fostering or adopting their own “feline friend” through the organization.
