Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night, but perhaps bears will stay these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds. At least that was the case this week for Canada Post, which left a note blaming “bear at door” for failure to deliver some mail to a Vancouver-area man.
Matthew Fane took to Twitter to share the delightfully honest missive from the country’s postal service.
Ok, fair enough @canadapostcorp that’s a decent reason to not drop the package off at my door. pic.twitter.com/ykAldpWpEP

The letter carrier, it seems, was never in danger.
For all those asking, the notice was dropped at our mailbox up the street #bearmail — M Fane (@IamFane) September 24, 2014
It’s not clear whether it was a grizzly or black bear that thwarted the delivery, but the region is home to both species. Canada Post even offered to look into the matter.
@IamFane Would you be able to provide your exact location via DM? We would like to investigate.
