“Childless Cat Lady” Taylor Swift endorses Harris while taking a swipe at Trump

Almost 24 hours and 10 million views after the U.S. Presidential debate, the clear winner is singer-songwriter Taylor Swift.

The world’s biggest pop star used Instagram to endorse the Democratic ticket of Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in this November’s presidential election over the Republican pairing of Donald Trump and J.D. Vance.

“Recently I was made aware that AI of ‘me’ falsely endorsing Donald Trump’s presidential run was posted to his site,” Swift wrote on Tuesday night.

“It really conjured up my fears around AI, and the dangers of spreading misinformation,” she wrote. “It brought me to the conclusion that I need to be very transparent about my actual plans for this election as a voter. The simplest way to combat misinformation is with the truth.”

She said, after doing her research, she’ll be casting her vote for Harris and Walz.

“I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them,” Swift continued.

“I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos. I was so heartened and impressed by her selection of running mate @timwalz, who has been standing up for LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and a woman’s right to her own body for decades.”

In a nod to Vance’s 2021 comments about the Democratic Party being filled with “a bunch of childless cat ladies with miserable lives,” Swift signed the missive, “Childless Cat Lady.”

Oh and she also used her influence — Swift has 283 million Instagram followers — to power Swifties to the voting booth.

“I also want to say, especially to first time voters: Remember that in order to vote, you have to be registered! I also find it’s much easier to vote early. I’ll link where to register and find early voting dates and info in my story.”

In no surprise to anyone who has followed Swift’s meteoric rise, voter registration searches jumped across the United States soon after the debate and Swift’s post, according to Google trends.

And, interest in voter registration by subregion was particularly high in key swing states Georgia, North Carolina and Pennsylvania.
