Cute alert: Polar bear cub talks in her sleep

Need help falling asleep?

Watch this polar bear cub deep in dreamland and you’re guaranteed to drift off into a warm fuzzy slumber. The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium just posted this delightful video of a female cub catching some Zzzzs.

Titled “Polar Bear Dreams,” we see little more than a minute of the wee white thing sleeping on her side, back, tummy, covering her eyes and chattering away. Put this on a constant loop if you want the best white noise ever recorded.

“At 5 weeks old, the polar bear cub is doing very well; she weighs a little over 4 pounds and measures 16 inches long! Both eyes have started to open as of yesterday, but they are not fully open yet. The care staff says the sound that she makes in the video is of contentment. Her motor skills are improving each day and she has started trying to stand up on all fours, especially when she’s ready for her next meal! She is on six feedings a day, every four hours. The team has been evaluating her daily needs and provides care 24/7.”

The Ohio-based facility is receiving an outpouring of Ooos, Ahhhs and Ohhhs on social media.

LJ Foor may have summed it up best in a Facebook post: “Sleeping babies (human or polar bear) are always so mesmerizing. My heart just melted into a puddle.”
