A mule deer might have just been looking for a quick snack.
Instead, the animal wound up with a garbage bin lid stuck around her neck in Fort St. John, B.C.
That’s when concerned citizens started calling the British Columbia Conservation Officer Service.
“Thanks to multiple reports from the public, the BCCOS was able to respond and safely tranquillize the doe,” wildlife officers said on Twitter.
The deer was eventually set free.
“The doe’s poor choice of a necklace was swapped for a fancy new yellow ear tag,” wildlife officers added.
