Champ lived up to his name after a house fire in cottage country, Ontario Provincial Police said Thursday morning.
Champ is an American bulldog who made one heck of a fuss to let his owners know the family home was ablaze.
“Champ’s family was fast asleep in their south Huntsville home when it filled with smoke,” OPP Central Region tweeted.
“‘Champ’ alerted his owners & everyone made it to safety,” police added.
Members of the Huntsville Fire Department were also on scene to successfully put out the flames and hot spots. It’s unclear what caused the fire.
But one thing is certain.
“Champ saves the day!” police said.
Proving once again, some heroes wear collars, not capes.
