New York Police were called to a vacant building this week after a report of squatters or perhaps burglars inside. But when they arrived at the Brooklyn address on Ocean Parkway, they only found eight dogs. And, the Maltese pups were decked out like fine dandies against the bitter cold.
“Police say they found the cuddly canines huddled together in their sweaters inside of a cage lined with blankets,” according to The Brooklyn Daily.
Police snapped a photograph of the stylish pooches and posted it to Twitter.

The animals were taken to Brooklyn Animal Control and Care, which just posted this update to its Facebook page.
“Many New Yorkers have inquired about adopting the Maltese pups found in Brooklyn. These particular dogs are being returned to their family, but we still have several small dogs that are available for adoption, including staff favorite Snoopy. For a complete listing of all the wonderful animals we have available for adoption, please visit here.”
The circumstances for the return of the animals is unclear.
