Funny animal photos finalists announced, include shy bear, and a leaf mask for bird

The 42 finalists for the funniest animal photos of the year have been revealed in the Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards.

The awards aim to celebrate the natural world and raise awareness about environmental conservation, all while putting a smile on your face.

This year’s finalists from across the world include birds having a bad day, majestic mammals and awkward encounters.

The winner will be announced on October 22.

Last year’s winner was Australian photographer Mark Fitzpatrick and his photo of a turtle at Lady Elliot Island in Queensland.

One of the photos this year includes a giraffe with a monkey on its back, and a happy vine snake.
