Prakash Mallya travels and dines in hotel restaurants — a lot.
But never has he had such an unexpected — and quiet — dinner companion.
Then again, goldfish aren’t really conversationalists.
“Land in Mumbai, walk into the hotel restaurant for a quick meal,” Mallya posted on Twitter. “The hotel staff come by to leave this on my table as company given I was eating alone. So nice & thoughtful and something that’s never happened in all my travel thus far.”

The hotel, Trident Bandra Kurla in Mumbai, was bubbling with excitement over the mention.
Thank you for your kind words, we look forward to welcoming you back soon!

But some were worried about about the health of the goldfish.
Will do Sir, thank you for your suggestions!

@meenatheindian We do transfer it back in to a big tank and provide all the care. However, we do honour you views. Thank you and kind regards.

The hotel assured people the fish is treated kindly.
“We do transfer it back into a big tank where all the care, oxygen and food is provided,” the hotel explained in a later post.
And it seems other hotels also see the value in fish as friends.
That is so cool😊!!
